New Agricultural Economy
Lignocellulosic biomass, which is the only sufficiently prevalent sustainable resource for conversion into chemicals, plastics and fuels, is the most abundant organic material in Africa and on earth. It is composed of four major components: cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin and water.
Connecting farmers (or other vendors) with the local buyers (like a biorefinery or a GreenEnergyPark™ or a µ-BioRefinery™) is the key to the creation of local agro-hubs and their associated rural socio-economic benefits: These small hubs will be located in the centres of agricultural areas and its profits will flow back to and grow the farming communities , thus supporting food security and create permanent rural jobs.
